Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and skilled *Mason* to join our construction team. The candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other types of masonry to construct and repair walls, foundations, floors, and other structures. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about construction techniques and materials.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, stones, tiles, and concrete blocks to construct or repair structures
- Mix and apply mortar or grout
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and construction plans
- Measure and cut materials accurately to ensure a perfect fit
- Align structures with precision using levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
- Clean excess mortar and finish surfaces neatly
- Repair and maintain existing masonry work as required
- Follow all safety regulations and ensure the job site is clean and secure
- Work closely with other construction workers and supervisors to complete projects on time
Qualification
- Vocational training or certification in masonry or construction
- Experience in both structural and decorative masonry
- Ability to work on scaffolding or at heights
- Basic knowledge of waterproofing and insulation methods
Skill & Experience
- Proven experience as a mason or similar role in construction (minimum 2 years)
- Familiarity with brick, block, stone, and tile masonry
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment
- Good physical stamina and hand-eye coordination
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures
