Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Trail Driver to join our transportation team. The Trail Driver will be responsible for safely driving and operating a truck with a trailer to transport goods between locations. The ideal candidate will have strong driving skills, knowledge of road safety, and a commitment to timely and efficient delivery.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a truck with a trailer, following all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery
- Inspect the vehicle and trailer before and after each trip to ensure proper maintenance and safety
- Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor
- Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle and trailer
- Follow company and state/federal transportation regulations
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and receiving instructions
Qualification
- Experience with long-haul or local deliveries
- Clean driving record with no major accidents or violations
- Certification in handling hazardous materials (if applicable)
- Knowledge of GPS systems and route planning
- Ability to maintain good physical condition for long hours on the road
Skill & Experience
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with necessary endorsements (Class A)
- Proven experience as a truck driver with trailering experience (minimum 2 years)
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Good knowledge of road safety and traffic laws
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift heavy loads and operate loading/unloading equipment
- Must be reliable and punctual with a good work ethic
