Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Welder to join our shipping and marine team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding steel and other metal components in the construction, maintenance, and repair of ships, boats, and offshore structures. The ideal candidate should have experience in marine welding and the ability to work in various marine environments.

Responsibilities

- Perform welding operations on steel, aluminum, and other materials used in shipbuilding and ship repairs
- Weld and fabricate parts for ships, including hulls, decks, and superstructures
- Repair and maintain ship parts and marine structures using various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, SMAW, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
- Inspect and test welded joints for strength and quality control
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with maritime and industry standards
- Maintain welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in proper working order
- Work with shipbuilding engineers and other trades to ensure successful project completion
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on shipping equipment and offshore installations

Qualification

- Certification in welding (AWS, ASME, or equivalent)
- Experience with underwater welding (if applicable)
- Familiarity with marine welding codes and industry regulations
- Previous experience working with marine equipment and materials
- Valid passport (for offshore or international projects)

Skill & Experience

- Proven experience as a welder in the shipping, shipbuilding, or marine industry (2+ years)
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC, etc.)
- Experience in welding on ships, boats, or offshore structures is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of maritime welding standards and safety protocols
- Ability to work in challenging and confined spaces on ships or offshore platforms
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work well in a team environment and meet deadlines
