Job Description

An Equipment Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment. They conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and safety. The role involves troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues, often requiring a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and computer systems. Technicians also document maintenance and repair activities, and may provide training or support to other staff on equipment use. Collaboration with other team members and adherence to safety protocols are essential aspects of the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all equipment in the facility, including blow molding machines, conveyor systems, palletizers, and compressors.
• Conduct repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining production targets.
• Document maintenance and repair work in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including work order completion, parts used, and time spent.
• Ensure that all safety procedures are followed, and all equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner.
• Identify areas for improvement in equipment performance, and work with the maintenance team to implement solutions.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date on the latest equipment technology and maintenance practices.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure that equipment is available when needed, and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner.

Qualification

 High School Diploma or equivalent  

You should have experience operating and maintaining industrial equipment, as well as a good understanding of the production process. You should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and have good communication skills to work effectively with other team members.

Skill & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of blow molding machines, conveyor systems, palletizers, and compressors.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
