Job Description
A Principal Construction Estimator is a senior-level professional who is responsible for overseeing the estimating process for construction projects. They are typically employed by construction companies, engineering firms, or general contractors.
Responsibilities
- Developing and preparing cost estimates for construction projects.
- Reviewing project plans, specifications, and other project documents to determine the scope of work, materials needed, and labor requirements.
- Analyzing and evaluating subcontractor bids and proposals.
- Conducting cost analysis to determine the most cost-effective options for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry professionals.
- Preparing and presenting estimates to clients and management.
- Ensuring that all estimates comply with industry standards, regulations, and requirements.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and construction personnel.
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is required.
Skill & Experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills are also essential.
- extensive experience working in construction estimating is necessary, along with a thorough understanding of construction practices, codes, and regulations.
